LAS Viewer ver. 14.31: Interval velocity, Synthetic seismic, Cross-plots, Trend lines, User's Model: AF, Aug 2, 2023

LAS file is not loaded. Load LAS file from File menu.

Browse to load LAS file. Select Logs, Derived / Velocity, Cross-plots or Synthetic seismic menu item.

NAVIGATION MENU

File: Click on "Browse", select you input LAS file, and click on "Open". After that you will see LAS summary, and a list of logs found in this file. You can select which logs to display, and change vertical scale by changing window size.

Logs: Use "Logs" menu to display logs available in LAS file. You can save pictures of zoomed curves from the left upper corner of log panels by selecting a camera sign. It will be saved as a png file.

Derived logs / Velocity: Use this menu item to display interval and RMS veloscity, and any derived logs.

If sonic log with transition time DT is available, this tool can calculate two derived logs: interval and RMS velocity that can be used for depth migration and checking velocity trend for seismic data processing.

Cross-plots: To select logs for cross-plots display. The first selected log will be on horizontal axis, the second log and all other will be on vertical axis.

Cross-plots2: Use this to display a cross-plot with two source logs, select depth interval for cross-plot, calculate linear regression, Gardner and Gardner-like functions.

Use "Update" button to display or update crossplots with different depth interval.

Synthetic seismic: Use this menu to create a synthetic trace from sonic log. You can change frequency of Ricker wavelet. You can aalso see how it works using Model radio button.

Use "Update plot" to plot convloved trace with another frequency.

This LAS Viewer is a web application developed by Rocky Mountain Seismic Software. It can be used for learning purpouses or a real work by geophysicists to view logs in LAS files, and also to get some calculated logs.

No installation is necessary, you can run this tool from your browser window.

After you browse and input LAS file, you will see LAS summary, and a list of logs found in this file. You can select which logs to display, and change vertical scale by changing window size.

You can save pictures of zoomed curves from the left upper corner of log panels by selecting a camera sign. It will be saved as a png file.

If sonic log with transition time DT is available, this tool can calculate two derived logs: instant velocity and RMS velocity that can be used to get velocity control points and check velocity trend for seismic data processing.

New features
